Trade window for the 2024 Indian Premier League is gaining momentum as the auctions get closer.

Over the past 48 hours, there has been no shortage of IPL trade news. From the widely publicized trade between RR’s Devdutt Padikkal and LSG’s Avesh Khan to Hardik Pandya returning to the Mumbai Indians, there has been no shortage of trade news.

As an alternative, the Mumbai Indians have called off their trade for five-time IPL champion Rohit Sharma, who was reportedly headed to the Gujarat Giants until late last night before the much-awaited Indian Premier League auctions, which are scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19. MI has decided to release Cameron Green and Jofra Archer, in addition to Romario Shepherd of the Lucknow Super Giants joining the Mumbai Indians.

On November 26, the ten franchises will submit their final retention lists, which also happens to be the last day of the IPL Trade Window. On the final day of the trade window, every team hopes to improve their rosters. Following the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as team mentor, teams such as the Kolkata Knight Riders are looking to replace Venkatesh Iyer with Rajasthan Royals teen sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal, a batter.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would release legendary all-rounder Andre Russell before the auction. However, the two-time IPL champions are expected to keep Russell and release three-star pacers.

Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings, who have been less active in the IPL trade window, are now in some trouble following Englishman Ben Stokes’ announcement that he will opt out of the IPL 2024 to improve workload and fitness. When they go up for auction, Dhoni’s CSK will unquestionably select Stokes’ replacement.
