On the ICC Team of the Tournament for the ICC World Cup 2023, six Indian players—including Virat Kohli—have been selected.

The International Cricket Council revealed on Monday that six Indian players—including captain Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli—had been selected for the ICC World Cup 2023 Team of the Tournament.

South African opener Quinton De Kock has been selected as Rohit Sharma’s partner. The Indian captain has also been selected to lead the team.

As expected, Virat Kohli, who was named the tournament’s player of the tournament, will bat third. Kohli had an amazing run-scoring tournament, breaking the record with 765 runs in an ICC World Cup match. The absence of rising star Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand’s ICC World Cup 2023 squad was the only other disappointment.

Daryl Mitchell, a talented middle-order batsman from New Zealand, will bat at number four. Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul bats at number five, but his large gloves will not be able to hold the wickets.

Glenn Maxwell, an Australian all-rounder and hard-hitter, is ranked behind KL Rahul in the playing XI. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who both had strong campaigns, will follow Maxwell.

Gerald Coetzee, a fast bowler from South Africa, will be number twelve on the ICC World Cup 2023 Team of the Tournament.
